Materials:
- Paper repairing: Japanese paper
- Filling and toning: Japanese paper, watercolour
- Adhesive: wheat starch paste
This woodcut print by Ando Hiroshige, considered the Japanese woodcut print master, was lined with acidic paper in the past and fragmented in many pieces. The old lining was carefully removed after humidification and the print was blotter washed. The pieces were then attached with Japanese paper and wheat starch paste. The missing parts were filled and toned with watercolour.
